I've got my categories set to the SIC codes of local businesses, which creates hundreds of categories - not sure if that is the problem or not. The categories all show in the backend, and on every post it shows the category that it has been assigned to. However, none of my categories show in the sidebar.

Are you using v3.0.3? This was a known issue that was fixed in the 3.0.3 release.

Yes, I am using 3.03.

I was running 3.0 at first, so once I realized there was a newer version I wiped all the old posts out with wp-suicide, deleted the cron-job, deactivated, upgraded, then reactivated this plug-in and even renamed and re-uploaded the DB to do everything again from scratch. Still no luck.

3.0.5 is released and has addressed these issue. Please deactivate 3.0.3, copy up 3.0.5, and activate 3.0.5.

Alright. I wiped everything completely clean down to a fresh wordpress install. Started with WFReview 3.05 and started the import job. Set the cities as category and the SIC code as tags. Everything shows up fine on the posts. It tells you what category each post is in, but when you check the categories list in the backend, they show 0 posts belonging to each category, and none of the categories show up in the sidebar either. I've also tried about 10 different themes but nothing works.

Also, I selected a field from the import DB from the drop down list to represent the category (city name), and there are no subcategories.

I looked at the URL you sent me via PM and the sidebar was showing the categories correctly.

It appears wordpress does not display the categories as the job is running, but once it finished the job all of the categories showed. Because my job was stuck on paused for so long, it looked like a separate issue, but once the job completed the categories did show.

I am using 3.0.5 and am also having issues with the categories not showing up. I have tried multiple imports and cleaned the db with wp-suicide but no luck with categories showing up. I have also tried multiple templates. Any ideas?

thanks in advance

I don't have nearly enough data to tell you what the issue is. Doublecheck your CSV.

Are you hosting on hostgator by chance?

I am using Hostgator...

Also, Is there a limit to how many products you can import? My cron job is stalling half way through when trying to upload 11,000 products. These are separate issues as smaller cron jobs have gone through just fine but do not show categories.

thanks

Hostgator changed something recently that's fucked pretty much every single WFReview user. No idea what it is and we've had a few people report success after HG does something on their end.

I'm emailing the guy who got it to work and will get the response posted soon. In the mean time, contact Hostgator support, this is a problem with their locked down rules.

FYI - I have been emailing HostGator all day today, around 20 emails, and they still can't figure it out.

We have a hosting service that's optimized for WFReview at the same pricepoint as Hostgator. $96/year for up to 10 WFReview domains.

Hostgator/Godaddy/1&1/any shared hosting just sucks. Not trying to be all high and mighty, but it's true. Get on our box (or any box outside of Hostgator, the worst host aside from GoDaddy) and you won't have a single issue.

I will probably do that. Host Gator has been very frustrating. I had to reinstall Wordpress and then break up the import but after that I finally got the categories to show up. But... now generating reviews has failed before completing. I submitted another post here about generating reviews failing if you have any suggestions to fix that with Host Gator. Perhaps this has come up before?

Thanks

Hostgator recently just sucks. Anyone using them needs to reevaluate.

We have a yearly hosting package for 10 domains for $96 if anyone is interested.

Bummer. I have Hostgator which is WFreview program hasn't worked for me since the first day I bought it.

I would gladly switch my sites over to you guys. Are there any sort of bandwidth limits? I'd like to bring back a site HG shut down because I was getting too much traffic (so much for unlimited).

Simply let me know what domain you want to use and I'll get an account setup for you. Once it's over here and working 100%, you shoot us $96 for the year's hosting.

Did anyone ever figure out what Host Gator has to change so the categories will show?

I am having the same issue with WFReview v3.0.7.
Can not change hosting.

I have built an auto-split feature for CSV import that might help. I will let you know as soon as it is bundled and released.
