how many reviews can this plugin handle practically speaking?

I'm testing out wpreviewengine. I added 130 posts/ratings and the site is now way too slow to be practical. I'd eventually like to have thousands of reviews on this site but there's no way it will work with that plugin.

I'm on a fast VPS and the slowdown is caused by the wpreviewplugin specifically, and not my server's limitations. I assume it's all the mysql calls and whatnot that make it so slow.

So, practically speaking, how many posts would you say that reviewpluginforwordpress can accommodate? I saw the guy who built the plugin saying it was well coded and fast, but I'm wondering what that means in the real world.

130 posts and comments should not be slowing down your site. I'm guessing it's your server.
I have a few sites with 2-4 thousand posts of business listings and notice no issues at all.

I have one site with 5500 posts with quite a bit of content on each one and I start to see a slowdown.

Depends on the content of your posts.
