View Full Version : Can't enter new rating on posts

I'm unable to apply a rating on an existing post using the comment box. The plug in seems to be working fine in all other respects. I'm even able to auto generate ratings on posts. It's just when i try to do a rating manually, i'm unable to highlight the stars to make the rating. I can enter a comment, just not select the stars.
Any thoughts?
Thanks much!

by the way, i'm running the latest Studiopress Streamline theme - so i'm assuming it's not a theme problem. This also happened when i was running the standard Wordpress theme, too.

cpreme,
What version of browser are you using? And is javascript enabled? Do you have a url I can take a look at as well?
Thanks.

Also make sure you have categories defined. Let me know if any of that helps.

Hello - anyone there who can help? This plug in is useless unless users can enter a rating. Please help.
Thanks

Can you verify that the version is 2.6+?
Also try disabling all other plugins and using the default theme then seeing if the ratings work. This way we can see if there is a plugin/theme conflict.

@cpreme and @snaps
The generated ratings are not editable once they are generated they are permanent. The new ratings for a new comment would be editable and should affect the global ratings once you submit the new comment. I checked out wurtigo.com and was able to add a new comment with new ratings.
Let me know if that answers your issue.

I've had to install a different solution. I'm pretty disappointed that this wasn't resolved since the plugin appears to be a perfect fit for what i need.

@cpreme
I am really sorry to hear that. My wife just gave birth to twins a couple of weeks ago and that is keeping me really busy also I just bought the plugin so trying to learn whats going on. I wish I could have resolved this for you sooner.
@snaps
I found an issue where the javascript path looks to be incorrect in the code thus causing the issue that you and cpreme are seeing. I'm looking to see the best way to fix it and will get back to you when I do hopefully within 24-48 hours.

Here is a workaround to the issue I found. Create a symlink to the wfreview directory from your <web root>/wp-content
So run the following commands:
cd <web root>/wp-content --- where web root is the root directory for your web site
ln -s plugin/wfreview .
Basically there is a reference to some js functions that has a wrong path and this seems to fix it.
